Redefining Omani Entrepreneurship |
MUSCAT — The first workshop on the profession of management, conducted by Louis Allen International, concluded yesterday at the Le Caprice Hall in InterContinental Muscat.
The second workshop commences today. The workshop was designed to prepare Omani entrepreneurs and senior organisation managers to face the challenges of globalisation in the 21st century.
The workshop, titled “A complete entrepreneur”, was organised by Technical Management Consultancy (TMC), in association with Morison Muscat Chartered Accountants. “The participants were exposed to a new management ideas and concepts that any one can implement in his work place. The Allen Management System changes lives,” says Vivek M. Albuquerque, a faculty member of Louis Allen International. The participants were given first-hand training and exposure to the concepts that were introduced.
“Solutions to any problem lies in the techniques adopted. We teach you the techniques, you implement those in real life. We make you aware, you use them in real life,” says Stephen Chinnaswamy , a mechanical engineer, who was converted to the Louis Allen Management System after he attended a similar course. The underlying issues that were addressed at the workshop were: recognising business opportunities; meeting the challenges of competition; developing strategic and operational business plans; creating a highly motivating work environment; encouraging high performance; managing your managers; and, in a nutshell, running business in autopilot mode. The participants were fully engrossed in each of the modules and the level of participation was tremendous from all those present, which included entrepreneurs, lawyers, senior managers, government employees and bankers. |
